The Darwin VAAC reported that during 4-5 July ash plumes from Sangeang Api were visible in satellite images rising to 2.1-2.3 km (7,000-8,000 ft) a.s.l.
and drifting SW and W.
During 6-9 July multiple ash plumes rose to 3-4.6 km (10,000-15,000 ft) a.s.l.
and drifted N, NW, and SW.
Thermal anomalies were visible on 4 and 8 July.
